Karanvir Bohra was born on August 28, 1982, in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, India. He is 37 years old as of 2019. His Father Name is Mahendra Bohra who is a Filmmaker and Mother Named Madhu Bohra. He is also the grandson of famous actor-producer Ramkumar Bohra. Well, known producer Sunil Bohra is his first cousin. Bohra has two sisters named Meenakshi Bohra Vyas and Shivangi Bohra. Karanvir Bohra is married to Actress and VJ Teejay Sidhu on 3 November 2006. The couple blessed with twin daughters, named Vienna, Raya Bella. Karanvir Bohra is Hindu by religion and Zodiac Sign is Virgo.
Karanvir Bohra was born as Manoj Bohra. The famous television actor began his professional journey at the tender age of 8 as a child artist in Tejaa (1990). Bohra became a household name with his portrayal of negative role in the famous TV serial Kasautii Zindagii Kay. He is also well-known for playing Dhruv in Ronnie Screwvala’s Television serial Shararat- Thoda Jaadu, Thodi Nazaakat which streamed on Star Plus from 2003 to 2007. It was in the year 2007 that he changed his name from Manoj Bohra to Karanvir Bohra.
Apart from appearing in various famous television serials in lead roles, he is also seen participating in dance and other reality shows. Karanvir Bohra is appreciated for hosting many shows as well.
As a child, he was not academically inclined and he was not good at sports too. He has done his junior college from Elphinstone College, Mumbai in Science but he left science as he had failed in his twelfth grade. Later he took admission in Sydenham College, Churchgate and completed his Bachelor of Commerce.
Karanvir has received training in the Kathak dance style for two years with Pandit Veeru Krishnan.In 2007, Karanvir Bohra has changed his name from Manoj to Karanvir. At first, Karanvir and his wife lived at Lokhandwala in Andheri, Mumbai. Later on, in 2014, he shifted to Goregaon, a locality in the Mumbai Suburban district. They are living their blessed life with their family and friends.
Career , Awards and Achievements :-
Karanvir’s first acting role was as a child artist in Tejaa (1990). Then he played the role of Kabir in DJ’s Creative Unit’s Just Mohabbat. After that, he worked as an assistant to B. P. Singh working on the detective series C.I.D and later for Achanak 37 Saal Baad. He had his first leading role with Ronnie Screwvala’s Shararat where he had played Dhruv. He also played minor parts in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi (2007) Kusum (2008). In 2003, Karanvir joined the star cast of the show Kasautii Zindagii Kay.
He played the character of Prem Bajaj, a spoilt brat as well. Then he quit pursuing his Bollywood career. In 2008, he hosted Ek Se Badhkar Ek with Tina Parekh. Later on, he participated in dance reality shows like Nach Baliye 4 with his wife Teejay Sidhu and in Kabhi Kabhii Pyaar Kabhi Kabhii Yaar with his wife VJ Teejey and Tina Parekh.
In 2009, Karanvir did a cameo role in Aziz Mirza’s film Kismat Konnection playing the character of Dev Kataria, a spoilt brat and businessman. Taran Adarsh of the entertainment portal Bollywood Hungama wrote about his performance, “Bohra acts well” In 2011, he made his comeback to television with Dil Se Di Dua… Saubhagyavati Bhava? He played the role of Viraj Dobriyal, a psychotic husband who has mood swings and suffers from obsessive-compulsive disorder for cleanliness.
The show ended on 18 January 2013. Alongside doing Dil Se Di Dua… Saubhagyavati Bhava?, he contested in Welcome – Baazi Mehmaan Nawazi Ki, a food reality show and in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 6 a dance reality show. However, he was eliminated from Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa.
Whilst, he was doing Saubhagyavati Bhava, Bohra also did his debut regional Punjabi film, Love You Soniye with his wife Teejay Sidhu. Bohra and Sidhu themselves produced the film. In 2013, Bohra did Telugu director Hemant Madhukar’s Mumbai 125 KM, alongside Veena Malik and Vedita Pratap Singh. The film grossed ₹1.65 crore (US$230,000) domestically. In June 2012, he launched his own clothing line for men, Pegasus, in association with the famous fashion designer Ammy Billmoria.
In March 2014, Bohra with his wife Sidhu had participated in Khatron Ke Khiladi Darr Ka Blockbuster. However, he couldn’t make to be a finalist in the stunt based reality show. In 2014, he replaced Abhay Deol in Balaji Telefilms documentary show Gumrah: End of Innocence 4 as the host of the season 4. However, Bohra quit the show in May 2015, as the show was facing a financial crunch and the makers were asking him to reduce his monies.
In April 2014, Bohra entered the Zee TV’s Qubool Hai opposite to actress Surbhi Jyoti. He played Aahil Raza Ibrahim, who is elitist, unpredictable, volatile, rebel biker with a dry sense of humor. In March 2015, he decided to leave the show citing that taking his character further would just be stretching it. Although, afterward he decided to return to the show.Then again Bohra quit the show in July 2015 as the production house of the show planned a 20 years leap. The show Qubool Hai ended in January 2016.
In 2016, he started shooting for the film named Hume Tumse Pyaar Kitna, co-starring Priya Banerjee, and Samir Kochhar, directed by Lalit Mohan and produced by his father, Mahendra Bohra. In October 2016, karanvir has joined the cast of Naagin 2 as Rocky Mahendra Pratap Singh, opposite Mouni Roy and Adaa Khan.
He is also going to feature opposite Priya Banerjee in the short film called Ijjazat, based on the love story of former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi. Bohra will play the role of Rajiv Gandhi in this short film. He also hosted the reality television show India’s Best Judwaah on Zee TV.
With success comes lots of responsibility and comes unavoidable many problems. Karan also got indulged in some controversies. Once Shahrukh Khan’s vanity van collided with Bohra’s parked car which left Bohra agitated and wanted to file a case against Shahrukh Khan. Shahrukh Khan requested him not to file a case against him. For his controversial exit from the TV series Qubool Hai, he stated that he wasn’t convinced with the show taking a leap in the Season 3. Karanvir Bohra found the role not interesting enough and as the TRP was low, he chose to quit the show.
However, he maintains that if given an opportunity, he would love to work with the same associates and crew in the future. While he was hosting the Life OK Screen Awards show, Karanvir mispronounced Anupam Kher’s name. Anupam Kher got really hyper by this and said, “Mera Naam announce kardo Phir, kahi galti se misprint Nahi Hua ho bhaisaab. The next time if there’s a mistake like this accept it honestly and don’t try and cover it.” This unexpected remark from Anupam Kher left Karan red-faced.
