Swara Bhaskar was born on April 9, 1988 ( age real is 34 years old as of 2023) in Delhi to Chitrapu Uday Bhaskar and his wife Ira Bhaskar. Her father was an Indian Navy Officer and her mother is a professor of cinema studies at Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi. She has one elder brother name, Ishan Bhaskar who got married recently. She was born and raised in Delhi, where she attended the Sardar Patel Vidyalaya school and then studied English literature at the Miranda House at the University of Delhi, where she completed her bachelors. After finishing her bachelor’s in English literature, she went on to complete her master’s in Sociology at the Jawaharlal Nehru University.

In 2011, Swara earned a wider recognition for her supporting role as a bride for the romantic comedy movie “Tanu Weds Manu” which was a blockbuster hit. Her performance in the film was well appreciated by the critics and she received Filmfare Award under the category of Best Supporting Actress.
In 2013, Swara earned further recognition for her performance in the critically acclaimed romantic movie Raanjhanaa. The role earned her second Filmfare Award under the category of Best Supporting Actress. In 2015, Swara’s had three film releases. Her first release, she remake her role of Payal in the romantic comedy Tanu Weds Manu Returns, a sequel to the movie Tanu Weds Manu (2011).
