Oh no! You ran out the house without your water bottle for lunch again. Or maybe you got halfway to your car and realized that your car keys were still hanging on the hook near the front door. Sometimes our memory gets blurred because of the many responsibilities and tasks that are on your plate. There are ways that you can improve your memory by implementing certain tactics into your daily practices.

Playing games could also help you to improve your memory. While you may like playing memory games such as matching or trivia ones, you can even ease your brain with fun betting games from betFIRST

1. Write A List

Writing a list can help you to follow tasks in sequence to get everything done you need to do. No more forgetting to pay a bill before its due date or not remembering to grab your prescription from the pharmacy if you regularly write lists to organize your daily life. Lists can be of things you have to gather the night before to get ready for the next day, tasks that you have to get done that day, or a list of one larger task divided into smaller sub-tasks to get it finished little by little.

2. Set Alarms

Remind yourself to grab your lunch out of the fridge before work or to put the finishing touches on a time-sensitive project by setting alarms on your phone. Have the alarm set for at least an hour before you need to get the task done depending on how long you have to spend on it.

3. Prioritize Sleep

Your brain can only work as well as you take care of it. Try to get at least 6 to 8 hours of sleep per night. If you are having trouble sleeping, stop using your phone an hour before bed and place it across the room for access only in the morning when wake-up alarms go off. Drinking hot green tea or chamomile tea can also calm your body before lying down to sleep.

4. Consume More Brain-Enhancing Food

Speaking of green tea, consuming more brain-enhancing food which includes the aforementioned beverage, salmon, cauliflower, and even the occasional dark chocolate amongst others can give you the brain power needed to help improve your memory. These brain foods have important vitamins, nutrients, and antioxidants that work with your brain to enhance its memory functions.

5. Try An Acrostic Phrase

An acrostic poem is defined as a poetic work where the beginning letter of each line of the piece spells out a word or a phrase that may align or not relate to what’s in the poem at all. Instead of making up a whole poem to remember something, just do an acrostic phrase.

For example, the acrostic phrase could be something random like Pineapple, Watermelon, Kiwi, which could be a funny way to remember your phone, wallet, and keys in the morning. It can be easy to run out the door without at least one or more of those important things if you are in a rush.

Conclusion

Improving your memory takes time, so don’t beat yourself up if you are still forgetting about certain things here and there. Before you embark on something, think about everything you will need and, if necessary, write it down and check your list twice!
